1. Signs and symptoms of shock
Shock is a progressive, life-threatening condition in which the circulatory system fails to deliver enough oxygen-rich blood to the body’s tissues and organs. As a result, organs and body systems begin to fail.
Common causes of shock include
- severe bleeding
- heart promblems
- severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis)
- significant fluid loss, for example, diarrhea and vomiting
- heart damage
- extensive burns
- infection
- spinal injuries
Signs and Symptoms of Shock
A person who is going into shock may show any of the following signs and symptoms:
- Fast puls
- Weak puls
- Pale, cool, moist skin
- Ashen (grayish) skin
- Sweating
- Fast, shallow breathing
- Weakness or dizzines
- Thirst
- Nausea or vomiting
- Restlessness or irritability
- Altered level of consciousness
