Clinical situation:

There was a car accident in front of your eyes. The driver is in the car with no signs of activity. There are signs of damage to the tank and leaking gasoline. Evacuate the injured person from the crashed vehicle.

Order of the skill performance:

Preparatory stage:

• Check the scene (see Examination of an accident scene)
• Call to bystanders for help
• Send someone to (if necessary):
  • mark the location with a warning triangle.
  • bring a car first aid kit
  • call to police
  • control traffic
  • restrict a crowd
• Open the driver's side door of the car and turn off the car engine.
• When assisting a passenger, open the car door from the victim's side.

Main stage:

• Perform a primary examination of the victim.
• Сall to ambulance
• Perform Immobilization of a neck with a neck collar

• Tilt the victim's torso forward slightly.
• Place your hand behind the victim's back, pass it through the victim's axillary region and bring it to the front of the victim's body.

• Grab the victim's left hand with the same hand at the level of the lower third of the forearm, giving it a horizontal position with the help of your other hand.

• Place your other hand between the victim's torso and the arm closest to you.
• Grab the victim's hand with this hand at the level of the upper third of the forearm, pressing it against the victim's stomach.

Final stage:

• Place the victim's head and back firmly on yourself, as if on a shield, and perform traction (pull gently by the pressed hand) of the victim from the car.
• Place the victim gently on the ground.
