Removal contaminated gloves

Gloves protect the skin from contact with an infectious agent when providing first aid. But there is a danger of contamination of the skin of the hands when removing gloves when the skin touches the contaminated surface of the gloves. Therefore, every medical worker must be able to remove gloves correctly. It is necessary to take off medical gloves very carefully, avoiding contamination of the hands skin and splashing fluids.

Equipment for the practical skill:

• protective medical gloves;
• gloves collection container.

The procedure for performing a practical skill:

• Make a fold of one glove closer to the edge of the cuff of the glove without touching the wrist.

• Pull the glove by turn it inside out.

• Remove this glove and hold it with other gloved hand.

• Place your ungloved fingers under the cuff of the other glove.

•  Remove this glove by turn it inside out.

• Place both gloves in the glove collection container.
